New to Dressage?

For those new to the sport of Dressage this is a guide that will help you with the requirements for compulsory competition Dress, Saddlery and Equipment, for levels Preparatory to Advanced.  Please note that the EA National Dressage Rule Book is subject to change and therefore the rule book will override this guide.

Dressage Competitor Starter Kit
Need a Bridle Number?

Riders should be aware that it is mandatory for all horses to have bridle numbers when competing.

If you are competing in official EA dressage, you must have a 4-digit EA issued number.  If you do not intend to compete in official dressage then you only need a 3-digit DDC issued number.

To request a bridle number you can contact the following:
  • DDC numbers:  ddc@darwindressageclub.com
  • EA numbers:  admin@ent.org.au
Click here for a list of DDC (only) bridle numbers.  EA bridle numbers can be obtained from ENT.
